Motion of a Ball on a Rough Inclined Plane

چکیده
We present two 2-dimensional approaches to studying the properties of a ball moving down a rough inclined plane (a 3 dimensional system). The rst is a molecular dynamics simulation which has exposed several interesting characteristics of the two dimensional system that are absent in three dimensions. The second is a simpliied stochastic model based on the equations of motion. This model faithfully reproduces many of the experimental results of the three dimensional experiments such as viscous friction.
